Huawei launched the Mate 9 and Mate 9 Porsche Design flagship smartphones at an event in Munich, Germany on Thursday. While the Mate 9 is what you can call a standard flagship, the Mate 9 Porsche Design is a flagship directed towards an audience with a more fashionable bend of mind. Both the phones however share the same second generation Leica-certified dual cameras on the rear, an upgrade over the first generation shooters on-board the Huawei P9.

Both the phones boast of an all-metal unibody design and curved 2.5D glass on the front. The Mate 9 and Mate 9 Porsche Design sport a dual-camera setup on the rear with one 20-megapixel f/2.2 monochrome and another 12-megapixel f/2.2 RGB sensor. The setup is aided with optical image stabilisation, a 4-in-1 hybrid autofocus (laser, phase-detect, depth, and contrast detection) and a dual-tone dual-LED flash. The rear cameras are capable of shooting 4K videos, a first for a Huawei flagship phone. On the front, both the phones come with an 8-megapixel camera with f/1.9 aperture and autofocus.

Both the phones are backed by a 4,000mAh battery and support Huawei’s SuperCharge quick charge technology.
