Jeep India to launch Grand Cherokee Trailhawk next month

In an effort to further expand options for potential customers, Jeep has revealed its plans to introduce a petrol variant called the Grand Cherokee Trailhawk in India next month. Visually, the upcoming petrol variant shares an identical design with its diesel sibling, the Grand Cherokee. However, the upcoming SUV gets a few cosmetic upgrades for freshness.

The upcoming Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk will be powered by a 3.6-litre V6 engine which generates 291bhp of power and 353Nm of torque. The powerful engine comes mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Features like the Quadra-Drive II 4×4 system with rear Electronic Limited Slip Differential (ELSD) is also carried forward on the petrol version as well. Additionally, it will also continue to offer Selec-Speed Control with Hill Ascent Control. The lower front section is removable thereby offering an increased approach angle from 29.8 degrees to 36.1 degrees. The suspension has been tweaked to offer additional 10.8 inches of ground clearance.

On the design aspect, the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk sports unique skid plates and a special anti-glare hood decal, a pair of red two hooks on the front as well as back and a stylish grille that resembles the one on the Jeep’s 75th anniversary models. Though 18-inch wheels are offered as standard, customers can opt for special 20-inch Goodyear Adventure off-road tyre with Kevlar reinforcement.

The new Grand Cherokee Trailhawk features a black theme with leather/suede seats in red contrast stitching. Moreover, a piano-black and gun-metal finish variant might also be on offer. The 8.4-inch infotainment system will be upgraded to offer additional functions. The petrol version is expected to be cheaper by Rs 12-15 lakh in comparison to its diesel versions which are priced from Rs 93.64 lakh to right up to Rs 1.03 crore.
