Nike has come up with the announcement of the latest addition to the Nike Air Max series. The NIKE AIR MAX 270 lifestyle shoe, with Nike’s iconic air-sole cushioning, will be released on March 2 in India.

While there have been other Nike Air shoes designed explicitly for lifestyle, beginning with the 1987 Air Safari, the shoe features air units originally created for running performance. The Air Max 270 unit and its subsequent shoe is the first 100-percent lifestyle Air shoe — designed with the same rigor as sports performance but for the demands of all-day wear.

The shoe, inspired by the Air Max 93 and the Air Max 180, features Nike’s biggest heel Air unit yet for a super-soft ride. The shoe’s construction feels snug and flexes with your foot. Made with solid and mesh areas, it gives you structure and ventilation where you need them most. A dual-density foam sole and large Max Air heel unit deliver plush cushioning for casual, everyday comfort, the global sports brand has claimed in a release.

Knit upper with no-sew overlays for comfort and support, Asymmetrical lacing for a secure fit’ Heel pull tab for easy on and off, Solid rubber outsole in the forefoot and clear rubber on the heel are some other features.

An old nickname, coined by Nike designers, influenced the 270 moniker that comes from an internal Nike epithet for the Air Max 93, which referred to the 270 degrees of visibility in the air unit.

Air Max 270 will have the tallest-ever max air heel unit – 32-mm tall! – to offer the biggest heel volume displacement for maximum air cushion comfort.

Kevin Durant felt it early, which required making the largest air max 270: a size 18!. The NBA star who represents Golden State Warrior rocked it first on November 22 before his showdown with the Oklahoma City Thunder and then again on December 5, a much-needed rest day.

The Air Max 270 will be available in a variety of colours at select retailers and Nike.com from March 2nd 2018.

Nike’s revolutionary Air-Sole unit made has its way into Nike footwear in 1978 when the Nike Air Max 1 debuted with visible air in its heel, allowing more than just the feel of Air-Sole comfort.

Since then, next-generation Nike Air Max shoes have become a hit with athletes and collectors by offering striking colour combinations and reliable, lightweight cushioning.
