Sony 'a99 II' camera launched in India, priced at Rs 2.49 lakh

New Delhi: Sony India on Thursday launched a new flagship camera, the ‘a99 II’ that comes with 42.4 megapixel resolution and dual SD card slot.

Priced at Rs 249,990, the ‘a 99 II’ is an `A-mount` interchangeable lens camera for high resolution and continuous shooting at high-frame rates.

The all new and upgraded `a99 II` camera will be available at select Sony Centres and other electronic and digital imaging stores across the country, the company said in a statement.

Compared to the originla a99, the new a99 II comes with a newly-designed grip, magnesium alloy body, dual SD card slot and is eight percent smaller too.

“The camera has been designed without an optical low-pass filter to allow the finest natural details and textures to be captured with depth and realism and the photographer can select compressed or uncompressed RAW files, as required,” the company said.

The new camera combines the hybrid phase detection auto-focus (AF) system with exclusive Sony A-mount features such as Translucent Mirror Technology (TMT) and is capable of recording high-quality footage at 100 Mbps for 4K recording.

The phase detection auto-focus system is capable of `full-time AF` and is the first implementation of 4D Focus in the full-frame “a” series.
