Honda Accord Hybrid launch on October 25

The much-awaited premium sedan, Honda Accord will be launched in India on 25th October. And instead of a diesel, it will be a Hybrid. With the festive season just around the corner, Honda aims to bring back the desirability and reputation the Accord had when it was launched back in the year 2008.

The non-plug-in Hybrid will be available with a 2 litre i-VTEC four-cylinder petrol engine which is coupled with 2 electric motors and a battery. With a combined power output of around 196 bhp and 300 Nm of torque. There is a speculation of a petrol-only version with 2.4 litre, 4-cylinder engine to be launched later. Undoubtedly the car will be feature rich and will have all the advanced technology for safety and comfort.

Now in its ninth generation, the sedan is making its way back in India after it was discontinued in 2013. The facelifted version of the ninth generation will be available in India after the eight generation was discontinued due to decline in demand and trifle sales. The car was showcased at the Autoexpo earlier this year.

The car will be imported as a completely built unit (CBU) and will be in direct competition with Toyota Camry Hybrid in India. And is expected to be priced around Rs 30-35 lakh. The premium sedan from the Japanese manufacturer was long due, and the launch of the new Accord could stir back the excitement back into the brand, as the festive season can accord boon to Honda and customers equally.
