Blogging was a big deal ten years ago, but with the explosion of social media, it has started to become less popular. However, a lot of brokers, owners, agents, etc., still enjoy keeping real estate blogs as part of their business model.
Blogs are a great way to keep in touch with clients and other real estate professionals. They can be used to talk about your business, the real estate market, your tips for success, or really anything else that interests you within the real estate realm.
But how can you make them relevant? As we’ve mentioned, they are a dying breed. For starters, you can use social media to market your blog. It is more likely that a client or colleague will see a Facebook or Instagram post of yours than taking the time to look up your blog. So, post the links there! Keep a direct link in your bio on social media sites and make a post on those sites every time you write something new. This will drive more people to your blog as they’ll be more likely to see your posts and become intrigued about what you have to say.
Keeping posts consistent
If you write on the Wednesday of every week, people will start to expect a post on the Wednesday of every week. Some may even begin to look forward to it! But if you miss a couple weeks or you don’t have a consistent schedule (i.e. making two posts on the same day and then waiting a month before making another), people will lose interest. If you want your blog to work, you have to stay on top of it. That means having discipline to do it. If you don’t have the motivation or energy for it, then it probably isn’t going to work – but if it is something you really want to do, it won’t be difficult for you to set aside some time.
