Nokia 8.1 set to launch in India today: Expected price in India, features and specifications

Nokia 8.1 price in India is likely to remain below Rs. 35,000 mark and can be expected to be pegged against the OnePlus 6T and Samsung Galaxy A9. Nokia 8.1 will be unveiled today in India.

Nokia 8.1, HMD Global’s latest entry in the company’s ‘value flagship’ smartphone range will be unveiled for the Indian market today. The India launch of the Nokia 8.1 comes merely a week after the global Dubai reveal. The Nokia 8.1 is the international variant of the Nokia X7 launched in China few months back. The new smartphone from HMD Global is the successor to the popular Nokia 7 Plus launched earlier this year and is the first Nokia device to launch with Android Pie out-of-the-box.

Nokia 8.1 expected price in India

The Nokia 8.1 smartphone is likely to be priced in the range of Rs. 30,000 – 35,000. To recall, HMD Global launched the Nokia 8.1 in Dubai at an average global price of EUR 399 (roughly Rs. 32,000). The smartphone was launched globally in two-tone colours Blue/ Silver, Steel/ Copper and Iron/ Steel where the frame was in Silver or Copper colours. The Nokia 8.1 is expected to go on sale via an e-commerce platform.

Nokia 8.1 features and specifications

Talking about some of the highlights of the Nokia 8.1, it features a 6.18-inch Full-HD+ PureDisplay with HDR10 support. The Nokia 8.1 is powered by Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 710 mobile platform and runs on Android Pie. The smartphone also supports 18W fast charging. It sports dual-tone anodized metal frame.

The Nokia 8.1 comes in 4GB of RAM and packs 64GB storage. It packs a large 3500mAh battery. For cameras, the Nokia 8.1 sports 12-megapixel primary and 13-megapixel secondary sensor at the back with ZEISS Optics and OIS support. At the front, there’s a 20-megapixel selfie camera. Being part of the Android One programme, the Nokia 8.1 comes with two years of guaranteed software updates.
