Tata Nexon is the next big compact SUV to make it into the list. Tata Motors seem to have done all the homework this time.

This compact SUV comes packed with the best in class features, variants, power, fuel-efficiency, interiors and even space.

What all does it come loaded with? Is the Nexon the compact SUV we all have been waiting for? We share a detailed preview.

The Tata Nexon looks stylish and this new compact SUV looks a lot different from the competition.

The Nexon gets the humanity line with black honeycomb mesh grille and lip underneath is matte white in colour than chrome.

This makes this SUV look different. The front bumper is large and the are around the round fog lamp has a grey-colour finish.

This makes the Nexon multi-coloured than dual. The headlamps come with projectors and are smoked out too.

The side profile of the Nexon looks sporty with the fastback. The thick C-pillar contributes to the styling of the silhouette. The matte white colour continues on the side too.

It runs underneath the window line. The 16-inch tyres are large and chunky. There is a crisp swage line that rises as you go further.

The rear has a small windshield area along with small tail lamps.

The Nexon might not come in three tone colour on the production version.

This is a very much of a crossover in design, but it will have good amount of road presence.

The platform of the Nexon is the modified version of the Tata Bolt and Zest.

The new Nexon interiors have been designed from an empty sheet.

The new compact SUV from Tata Motors will be made available with an all new set of features and this could even include the start stop button for the engine.

Tata Motors is offering an array of new features on the Nexon and this will be the next compact SUV to hit the market.

This is somewhat similar to the Bolt and the Zest, however it has different font.

This will come with features like keyless entry, push start and stop button, a 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system with reverse parking camera, maps, aux, bluetooth and USB connectivity.

This music system makes through eight Harman speakers.

There are a lot of storage spaces with one-litre bottle storage in the door pocket, centre arm rest, cup holders in the centre, mobile phone storage space ahead of the gear lever, storage space next to the steering wheel (right hand side) and even is even an umbrella holder in the front doors.

The interiors are spacious with sufficient space in both the rows.

Tata Motors has always excelled in space. All their vehicles have always been extremely spacious and the Nexon will be spacious too.

The Nexon with its taller stance, has improved the head room in the cabin and then this compact SUV has good knee room too, for rear passengers as well.

Where the it shines is the option of rear AC vents, which isn’t available on most of the competition. There is a slot on the door for umbrellas, this is another strong point for this compact SUV.

The Tata Nexon even gets an umbrella holder. This is first time we will so much practicality in a Tata car. Space has always been good, but in terms of stowage, it has been tight. Nexon is likely to change that.

Tata Nexon will be offered with a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine. The diesel one will be a 1.5-litre one that shall churn out 108bhp of power and 260Nm of maximum torque.

These are newly developed engines by Tata Motors and the diesel will come with a six-speed manual transmission. The Nexon will come with three driving modes.

An AMT might also be on offer. Tata might be planning to even use the 1.05-litre diesel on the Nexon, to get a lower priced version and for a more fuel-efficient version.

The reason why the Nexon shines is because it will have the most powerful diesel engine on offer.

Today, the competition is offering about 100bhp of power on the Ford Ecosport and the Mahindra Nuvosport.

The Tata Nexon with 110bhp and six-speed manual transmission, will be an even more stronger player.
